New Arrivals: Tsuyoiko Glass L Size

Introducing L Size in the “Tsuyoiko Glass” Series!

We are excited to introduce the new Tsuyoiko Glass L to our series. The capacity is 240ml, offering a larger volume compared to the S size (130ml)  and M size (185ml). With the addition of the L size, which is perfect for children who are starting to find the M size too small, as well as for adults. The Tsuyoiko Glass series offers four types: S, M, and L-sized glasses, plus a bowl. These are designed for use by both children and adults.

What inspired the development of the new L size?

The original Tsuyoiko Glass lineup included two sizes—S and M—as well as a bowl, all designed for easy use by young children. However, a customer survey conducted through ADERIA’s official Instagram revealed strong interest in a slightly larger glass. Many users expressed a desire for a size that could also be used by adults.

These responses highlighted a broader need: a glass that could be shared by both children and adults. Based on this feedback, we decided to develop the new L size to meet those expectation. By creating the L-size glass, we aimed to make the Tsuyoiko Glass series suitable for the whole family. This supports the important concept of “commensality”—enjoying meals together as a family while having meaningful conversations, which is essential in food education.

The Story Behind the Tsuyoiko Glass:

The Benefits of Using Real Glass Cups in Early Childhood

In many households, glass tableware is considered too fragile for children; it is often replaced with plastic alternatives for safety and convenience. In fact, that very fragility plays an important role in helping children grow — not just physically, but emotionally and sensorially.

The Tsuyoiko Glass was created by a nursery teacher and certified food education advisor who believes that children should grow up using real, natural materials. Handling glass teaches care, respect, and awareness — qualities that plastic can’t offer.

Rather than shielding children from fragile items, we should teach them to handle objects with care. Real glass provides an opportunity for children to develop a sense of responsibility and attentiveness by experiencing its texture, temperature, and clarity. These small, daily interactions foster a meaningful connection with the tangible world.

Eating isn’t just about nutrition. It’s a sensory experience that shapes how we feel about food. Just like rice tastes better in a ceramic bowl or soup feels warmer in a lacquered cup, juice feels fresher in a glass. Tableware matters — even for little hands.

4 Key Features of Tsuyoiko Glass

1. Easy to Hold Design and Perfect Size

The glass features a narrow waist at the middle and a stepped shape on the bowl, making it easy for small hands to grip securely. It comes in three sizes, allowing users to choose the perfect volume for their needs.

2. Ion-Strengthened Glass with Dishwasher Safety

Tsuyoiko Glass is made using ion-strengthened glass technology, which significantly improves resistance to cracking and chipping compared to regular glass. It is also dishwasher safe, making daily cleaning simple and convenient.

3. Made in Japan with Reliable Safety and Quality

Manufactured by Ishizuka Glass Co., a company with over 200 years of history, Tsuyoiko Glass has been produced under strict quality control in Japan since its launch in 2007. This ensures safety and consistent high quality for everyday use.

4. Environmentally Friendly Packaging Supporting Social Causes

The packaging uses “Colorful Wish®” paper, made by recycling origami cranes sent to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. This eco-friendly choice reflects our commitment to peace and a healthy environment where children can grow happily.
